Default turning itself off with a red cross on the display

Hi,

Bought one of these crappy 4GB players from Hong Kong - well now I've
formatted it turns out its only 1GB.

Thing is it its now turning itself off with a red cross on the display. Does anyone know why - is it the battery? I've fully charged it and it only seems to play for a little while.

Any ideas?

ta

the red cross indicates low battery.

if you are sure that you charged it properly, then something's wrong with either the ac adapter or usb cable or the battery.

i suggest you to try charging using both the ac adapter as well as the computer and see.

let it charge until the battery becomes fully filled.
