Charging problem with MP4 player
 

I went to charge my nano-clone mp4 player, and as soon as I plugged it in, it charged one cycle, then was full. :o I've noticed I'm not getting a lot of life out of my battery, and I think it's because my battery isn't charging all the way up.

Has this happen to any of you all?

in my opinion, it is due to a problem in your battery.

but before jumping to conclusions, i would suggest you to first try charging through the computer as well both direct through the usb port and with the cable.

if the problem persists, try changing both or either the ac adapter or usb cable.

and if nothing works, like i said, its most probably something to do with the battery.

I also have a charging problem with my battery. It doesn't charge all the way using either the computer usb or power outlet.

The player heats up when trying to charge and it heats when I charge using both methods.

I bought the player from Sky_Tower on ebay.com.au last year and all communication with this seller has been ignored so far.

I have tried looking for replacement battery to buy but can only find ebay site with pay pal only and I dont have a credit card. Plus it might be the charger or the usb cable.

Does anyone know if sky tower are schammers, has anyone had any dealings with them. I don't know if my player was hacked is suppose to be 4gb.

as far as the charging problems are concerned, if you cant buy a battery then you can always try changing the usb cable and ac adapter first buy buying it from a local conventional mobile shop.

most and almost all players which have memory above 2gb are hacked. so i suggest you to try this to recover your real memory and avoid any problems as far as music and video playback are concerned.

Yeah.. yeah! Me too!!! Well mine goes like this... If I'm going to charge my MP4 via the wall charger I'll be spending at about 1 to 2 hours until the green light is off and the battery is full and then I would only use that player "for playing music" at about... uhmm, let's say 5 hours after that my player dies off to me again.

Is it normal for an MP4 (I-Pod clone) player to have this kind of battery life span?

I also tried charging it using my laptop... still same thing happens... errr I guess it's a battery problem? >,<



Note: by the way my player's memory is not hacked...

From the looks of it, it seems like the battery is starting to show signs of dying. For charging, usually the player gets slightly warm, rather than hot.

i would suggest that you use your computer to charge the player and avoid using the AC adaptor. The current supplied by the AC adaptor is much higher than the computer USB.

.::Lain::. , that's about the playtime your should get from a full charge. However, like i've mentioned, try to avoid using the AC adaptor and use the computer's USB as far as possible. It might take a little longer to charge, but it's better for the battery.

How many hours should it take to fully charge the player.

Other than the battery dying there were no other problems everything else worked ok.

Forensic , on a computer USB, it should take somewhere between 2-3 hours. On an AC adaptor, around 1-2 hours.

Ok so I charged it for at least four hours via the computer and it didn't charge. The player shows a small amount of red on the battery indicator, but that is what it showed before charging.

So I am guessing that it probably is the battery.

Where can I get a replacement battery ? I did see some on ebay but I dont think they are listed anymore.

Does UXCELL have the same batteries? as my player is the same i-platimum 4g that EXCELL advertise on their site. However I didnt see the batteries for sale onsite.

Should I consider buying a new usb cable as well and maybe charger?

Forensic , what's your max playtime you get from that 4hour charge? You should be able to get a minimum of 3-4hours of playtime.

Both has it's dimensions listed, so i'll suggest that you open your player first and measure the max allowable space.

This seller sells USB cables too, perhaps you can take a look. I would not recommend purchasing an AC adaptor charger, as those units from ebay are kinda dodgy.
