Default Charges for about 30secs, then goes off.

My 4gb (real mem: 2gb) mpx which has been working perfectly fine for a month just stopped coming on. I plugged it into the mains to charge last nite, but now it just isnt coming on.

When I plug it into the PC, the PC reads it, charges for about 30secs, then goes off again.

I would have thought its a battery problem only that the battery has been perfect since I got it.

Could it be 'dead', and can anyone help?

bravehearted , does the player function properly when it connected via USB to the computer or wall socket?

When you say you plugged into the PC, charges for 30sec and goes off. What do you mean by going off? Does it totally shutdown, or does the drive disappear from your computer?

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

I wouldnt say its functioning when plugged in, and yes, it totally shuts down and the drive disappears from the PC after about 30secs.

Is it possible for you to update or just recover the firmware? I had the same problem before but it was an MP3 player and what I did was I just run the player on recover mode (well my MP3 has this kind of function - long press on play button while connecting to USB) and then uploaded the firmware... and after that my player seems to be fine now... Well I don't know if this will work on MP4 but you can try... ^^

Firmware might be corrupted but I'm not really sure... >,<

bravehearted , you can try what .::Lain::. mentioned by long pressing the play button while connected via USB.

If it does not work and from your symptoms, try using another set of USB cables. Also, try connecting your player to another computer. See if the problem still persists.

If it still continues, likely it would be a hardware problem within the player.
