ipod like chinese 2gb mp3/mp4 player problem

hi,
i hv a 2gb chinese ipod like mp3 player. the firmware is:
CM60009-501
2006/09/07
Act-V3.5.35

i was not being to able to load new mp 3 folders after loading abt. 60-70 songs.i ran a standard disk check thru windows 98 which found lost clusters & deleted them.now on opening the music folder the player resets.i can see all mp3 files on my computer.
what shud i do now? shud i reflash the firmware? if yes then where will i get the firmware & what is the process of reflashing? will it cause a decrese in the memory?
please help.

rohiniro, trying to load another firmware will most likely kill your player so try and avoid that if possible. I suggest you try formatting the player in FAT format.

hi,
but wont that decrease the memory; i hve read that the 2gb than becomes almost 256mb. cant i just load the same firmware again? is there any other way by which i can make the player functional yet not lose the memory.

rohiniro , if your player have a genuine 2GB memory chip, formatting will not decrease the memory size.

If your memory chip is hacked, then you will have a decrease in memory size.

ok guys in school today (i'm 17 so if i get spammed with reformat your hardrive into a 986oy-sfhdgsjdf yammer i will request a clarification) i won a chinese 2 GB from some school fundraiser thing. now i can delete stuff from it but whenever i upload any songs pics etc. they do not appear. i am 100% certain it is 2GB. the instructions were in chinese or some other language and are long gone someone..... anyone...... help! on the back it says pmp 2GB M portable pmp player NS-702B. it loos exactly like an iphone/itouch but is less sturdy. as for anything else i have this:
