Problems modifying my theme using s1fwx

I recently bought an ipod nano clone.

The firmware version is 9.0.50. The menu screens are pretty dodgy so i want to install a new theme. I have read the guides regarding using the s1fwx utilty to extract and repair the firmware however i get an error message saying :

error: the system cannot read from the specified device

warning: unknown firmware file

Is my firmare newer than the s1fwx utility?

My mp3 player details:

memory = samsung k9g8g08u0m (1gb) - advertised as 4gb on ebay :(
firmware version = 9.0.50
chipset = atj2091n
model = black ipod nano clone with 1.5inch screen

Thanks for any help, hope my question isnt too stupid!

smoo7h , as you have said, the S1fwx 3.1 only supports upto v9.0.43 at this moment.

So there is nothing much you can do to the firmware whatsoever.

Just enjoy your player as it is, and do not try to update with any firmwares, you will only most likely kill you player.
