Help, my player didn't charge!?!

Hello
I've bought an 2GB MP3/MP4 player, this one:klick here

Everything is OK but: I've tried to recharge the player. i've connected the player with my PC. On the player i could see the symbol that show me that the player get charge. After two hours i reconnect the player and turned it on. after 5 seconds on the display i could see the symbol that the battery is empty and the player turned off.
where is the error? what could i do?

Is the player turned on while charging?
Are you using a USB hub?
Try another USB cable.

i use the usb port from my laptop, without an hub.
i could turn the player on when he is connected to the pc but the battery didn't charge.
where is the error? the cable? but why can i turn the player on when it is connected to the pc.

end33 , the problem could be a faulty USB cable. So try another cable if you have a spare.

However, since you are able to use the player whilst connected via USB to the computer, and it turns off after you disconnect the cable, likely it is either a faulty cable, or faulty battery, or faulty charge regulator.
