pmilladcs, you could try running easychips to identify your chipset. You can download it here:

is there such thing as a A00000600001 chipset. i dont think so, the easy chips program is hard to use if you can't read anything
the only filled in blanks look like this

actions
USB 2.0(HS) Flash Disk
A00000600001
2.0 (480Mbps)
64byte
{36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000}\0006
USB#ROOT_HUB20#4&b893bd0&0#{f18a0e88-c30c-11d0-8815-00a0c906bed8}

pmilladcs, Ok the program may not be compatible with you chip type. You may have to open the player after all.

pmilladcs , that's the memory chip which is a 2GB Samsung chip.

To identify your player's processor, the best way is to open up the player and look for the processor chip's serial number. The memory chip is usually the largest, followed by a second largest chip which is the processor.
