Default 2GB player showing 1GB and bad sectors

I have a 2 GB nano clone. Windows was showing it had 2GB memory in the properties tab but on trying to format only 998 MB was being shown.

ANyways, it was working. But today i tried to create some folders and put files there and now windows is showing bad sectors in almost 1 GB space and only about 800 MB is shown as usable. Addtionally, whatever songs are there, some play and then the player suddenly turns off. How do i remove the bad sectors? These are most certainly logical ones as the player has not been manhandled at all. I got it only 2 days back... I am only a student and had saved to buy this. Please help me.

andy_267, The problems you discribe are consistant with some of the symptoms of a hacked memory chip. Your player may in fact have only 1GB of memory. Try using lattesurf's guide to removing memory hack, your chip will then read it's true size of 1GB but you will have no file problems.
