I use lots of quick topup recharges and never let the battery drain completely.

Same here. Only new batteries, I load/unload them 2 or 3 times, before I go to the quick recharges. These topup recharges seem the best way to preserve li-ion batteries. Now I have lithium-polymer batteries, shouldn't matter now. But I still keep them full. You'll never know when you have to pick up your bags and run!!! (meaning I could be out to do something elsewhere for some time, and a dead player is one of the worst things that can happen to me when on a bike or a train or a plane)

I just attack my MP4 to my PC when ever I'm not using it. It means I can access it and update it with music and what not with out going through pluging it in and all that crap and its allways fully charged.

Something is wrong with my player if it only takes an hour or two to charge. I waited over an hour only to see it at half. Then almost another hour and no change. I think I'll sell it on ebay or just give up and buy another mp3 player. These things are crap.

My player will charge all day while plugged into a PC, I also have the USB/electrical plug charger which charges within an hour or so. However the battery life on my player (purchased in Jan 07) is less than 3 hours per day...which is a bit inconvenient as my commute to work and back is 2.5 hours per day!
