This is the properties of the sample you uploaded.

PIC_0076.AVI,
4.2 mB, no subtitles , XviD MPEG4 Codec, 320x240 pixels,
00:00:00:51 sec., 30.00 (30.0003) frames per sec.,
Microsoft ADPCM Format, 130 kbit, 16000 Hz, 2 chan

Make sure when you convert that you use the correct audio format.

Download this video clip and let me know if it works in your player.
(It will not be full screen for you)

The 3 samples can be viewed as thumbmails when i try to play them my player freezes? I cant imagine this being soOo complicated?

It hurts my brain!

By the way i made some research

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_MP4/MTV_Player

Do i have to try converting to all this video format just to make sure? Or my player is on XviD MPEG4 Codec format like you said?

MTV Video Format
AMV Video Format
ATV Video Format
ACT Audio Format
SMV Video Format

The difference between the video you uploaded (which I assume works ok) and the 3 samples is the audio format. Make sure that when you convert your videos you use Xvid mpeg4 with "microsoft ADPCM Format" audio. The standard avi players use MP2 audio and when using a video with mp3 audio you get a format error, You may be experiencing the same problem of using the correct audio format.

Meaning to say the video format are correct thats why the player recognize it as a video but when i try to play it freezes because of the wrong audio format?

Re: How to play video on Aosta DV680

To lattesurf and avionik99 I converted a clip to:

Video: XviD MPEG4 Codec, 320x240 pixels
Audio: adpcm_ms, 22050 Hz, stereo, 178 kb/s

Close to the properties of the sample

PIC_0076.AVI,
4.2 mB, no subtitles , XviD MPEG4 Codec, 320x240 pixels,
00:00:00:51 sec., 30.00 (30.0003) frames per sec.,
Microsoft ADPCM Format, 130 kbit, 16000 Hz, 2 chan

Again it only shows the thumbmail view then freezes

The problem maybe the audio how can i change the 22050Hz to the sample 16000Hz and the 178kb to 130kb? weeee maybe im much closer to the solution eh?

maybe your mp4 player has a setting which allows video to be played in different views and its set to Thumbnail view.

refer to your manual and see if there is anything like that and if there is set it to Normal.
