kwimbo , there are many MP3 encoders in download.com that you can use. Almost all of them can re-encode your mp3s to wma format.

Depending on the bitrate you chose, the lower the bitrate, the smaller the filesize.

There isin't a straight rule on how many songs can be put onto a 2GB chip. But a rough estimate for .mp3 would be about 390 files, considering an average 5MB filesize at 128kbps.
I'm not a big fan of .wma but if you lower it to 96kbps, you'll be able to store about 500+ files.

i personally am a big fan of wma. this converter here can convert mp3 files to half the bitrate with the same effectiveness as the original mp3 file. i noticed no difference and was able to save over half the disk space.

if you have files worth 2gb already on your player and you convert them to wma, you should be able to put over double of the files you have currently have on your player

on an average maybe around 650-700 songs on a 2gb player
