2.5mm earphones doesn't work

Im so pissed after 2 months of not using it coz my earphones broke and since i couldnt buy 2.5 mm plugin earphones anywhere in my city i had to order it from ebay the earphones arrived ( they work coz i tried them on several mp4s) but it doesnt work on mine :? the volume is ok the song plays but i cant hear anything i restarted it; charged whole day still nothing :(

EDIT: I see that the little thing where you plug your earphones in seem to be a bit loose like when you shake my mp4 you can see it move a bit  dunno if this has som'n 2 do wit it

A-D , likely the solder for the earphone socket has broken off. You will need to open your player and resolder the 5 pins back on the board.

unscrew the screws

A-D , it depends on what type of player you have. The 1st gen clones usually have 4 screws at each corner, unscrewing them will allow you to open the back casing.

For the 2nd gen clones, you will need to pry up the top cover where the on/off switch is. Then the screw will be exposed, unscrewing it should allow you to either slide the casing open or lift it off.

ok thanx ..i unscrwed and opened it and yes you were right the lil earphone socket was broken off but i dont have any solder kit and i dunno what i should use instead to resolder it :s

A-D , the only solution is to re-solder the socket back. Either find a friend good in soldering to do it for you, or you could go to some electronics/mobile-phone repairs shop to do it.
