Default My Glacier worked, now it won't turn on

I finally got my Glacier yesterday evening, as soon as I got it I put it on the charger to make sure I had a full battery before I really started playing with it. Unable to resist myself, when is saw it had a full battery, I started playing around with the preloaded stuff and was completely happy with it, satisfied with what I saw I put it back on the charger. That's when I noticed it start to flash like it wanted to load, but couldn't. I left it alone last night (hoping it was just being fickle), when I got up today I tried to turn it on again with the same result. I thought maybe if I hooked it up to the computer it would be ok, no go. I was hoping that someone here can recommend something before I contact uxcell. I would really like to fix it inhouse and not have to ship it back to China. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

carameljoy99 , looks like a firmware/hardware problem. The Glaciers usually run a v9.0.48 or v9.0.50 firmware, which at this stage is not support by the S1fwx firmware extraction tool.

However, you can try replacing the battery with another Nokia BL-4C. Sometimes a battery change solves most of the problems.

If it does not work, what i can suggest is that you contact uxcell.

Ok I will definitely try that, I really don't want to go through the hassle of returning the player I really like it. I'll keep you posted, and please keep your fingers crossed for me! Thanks for everything!

carameljoy99,

Can you switch it off using the [on/off] switch?

If you can, then switch it off using the switch, leave it off for awhile (maybe 5-10 mins), then try switching it on again, while pressing and holding down the [play] button. See if that helps.

Otherwise I would suggest try charging your player through the USB of your computer instead and see if that puts a charge through.

I tried switching it on and holding down the play button, didn't work. When I switch it on, an hour glass comes on and the screen starts to flash, if I leave it, the hour glass just stays on. I'm going to see if I can find a battery today. I'll keep everyone posted

Also I tried hooking it up to the computer with the same result--the hour glass comes on and flashes and it won't go any further than that. I am so frustrated because it worked when I got it!!

Looks like a firmware problem
There aren't any programs that can extract and repair your firmware right now, devlopers are working on it...so all you can do is wait.(as I have heard) or return it and get a refund? :/

no i think its a battery problem as mentioned by me before. the same things happened to me and a change of battery worked.

try it and let us know of the result

you could also open up the battery cover at the back of the player. see if the battery is moving a lot and if you think it is, insert small pieces of paper wherever possible (bottom, left, right of the battery) so that the battery fits correctly and makes good contact with the gold pins on top
