ear plug
Hi
I read here that if the plug for the earphones in the MP4 is loose, it has to be soldered, but i don't know where or how? I think there are some members from the Phils here? Please tell me where to go to have this fixed. Thanks |
You have to take the player apart, and maybe even remove the electronics board to get to the headphone jack's. Nobody around with technical skill and a soldering tool?

Hi Que,
Thanks for the reply. Please send me what a soldering tool looks like? No, I don't know anybody who can fix it. If I have a picture, I can show it. There are many cellphone repair stores here, but I'm afraid if i say solder, they might not get it. I don't know what they call solder in the native tongue. :) If I can buy one, maybe I can try and fix it :) Thanks so much. |

Re: ear plug
If you say "solder" and they do not understand then go some place else. You would not take your computer to be fixed at a place where you had to show them a picture of a computer would you?
If you are going to do it yourself, get some thin pieces of copper wire (like 22 gage) to practice soldering with. Soldering small parts on a small board like inside a mp4 player is hard to do. If you do not learn how to solder well before you try to fix your player you will probably burn it up! Read http://www.instructables.com/id/E30LR180T4EWP872BS/ first. DO NOT try to fix it using step 7! |
