Default MP3 Player Not Being Installed Correctly By Pc

Hey guys, just joined the forum after receiving my new mp4 player today.

Firmware: ACT2097_S72_1
Memory Size: 2GB

It worked fine for a about an hour, then when I was putting music on it they started being replaced by crazy symbols and it wouldn't let me delete any files or folders - also none of the music I had put on was being detected by player (Although the memory setting said I had used some of the memory.) I'd had a problem like this before with a different played so I thought I'd be clever and format the player. This just made things worse.

Now whenever I plug the player into the PC I get the following error - 'A problem occurred during hardware installation. Your hardware may not work properly' (Or something similar!) There is now no icon for it in My Computer and under Device Manager it is labelled as a USB Mass Storage Device with a question mark next to it! I've tried uninstallin and reinstalling it but to no avail. I've tried playing with the 'Online mode' too (the bit about drive with code??)

The MP3 player works correctly as far as I can tell (however there are no files on it - I can navigate among the menus) It also charges through the computer fine also.

If anyone can help then that would be awesome as I have literally had it about 6 hours!

Cheers, Josh

Snave2007 , try plugging your player into another USB port that you have never used your player on before.
Also try another PC.

Why are clones called MP4 Players, when they don`t play .MP4 at all?
It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

Ok how can I do that? Do I not need it to be recognized as a removable disk to do that?

I have now found that my MP4 player has hacked memory (supposedly 2GB - actually 1GB) I have contacted the seller and I hope that this can be solved without me having to resolve to contacting eBay.

Can't believe people actually do this....Gotta say I'm more than annoyed!
