Default stays on hourglass and PC doesn't recognise it

Hello....
I just got a "knock off" "4GB" Nano "MP4" player.

My problems are...

1. When I turn the power switch on....it stays at the hourglass....and will not go any further.

2. Cannot connect to my pc (windows XP sp2)
It recognizes that i plugged it in...but windows won't install it.
It begins to...then asks for me to put in "mass storage disk"...
and i tried the mini disk the player came with...but nothing.

I've been up and down the forum and there really hasn't been too much that helped....
the main problems are the two i mentioned...
Please help someone!

I have an instalation disk...but the drivers on it are windows 98, and i downloaded a couple drivers from the forum...but they were windows 98/ME....and not for XP..

HELP!!!!

ravenmorgan,

From the sounds of the problems you mentioned, it seems like the player itself is faulty.

To save you from all the hassels and stress, I would highly recommend contacting the seller about the problem and getting a replacement. If it's still under warranty and you've only bought it, then definately let the seller know and get a replacement.
