how do u download song on the FMP!!!!!!!!!!!!

i just got my fmp. when i follow the directions in the pamflet, and i copy and paste into the removable disc 'g' it says it cant download the song because it doesnt exist or it is being used in another program, but i dont have any other programs open, and i cant figure out how to use general media, and when i try to import songs into " media manager" it will randomely close.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! i am so excited to use the player and i just want to put some songs on it

also when i click to put a new folder on "removable disk 'g'" it says "unable to create the folder. "new folder"
the directory or file cannot be created"


On top of all that, when i was trying to us "media manager", it randomley just said it had "encountered an error and must close" and now it wont even open anymore, and this already happened before, so i re-installed it and it worked agian untill it just messed up like 2 minutes ago. is this the player, the software, my computer, or me?
also one last thing. when i plug the FMP into the computer on the FMP, it says CONNECT, it does NOT say connecting, or connected, does that mean my player isnt even plugged in?
