how do i back up the software on my mp4
 
i need to format my player, do i need to back up my software to do so, like will it erase during the software, if so, how do i back up software

If you mean your music - yes it will be erased when you format. If you are worried that your player won't function or have the software needed to operate after you format, don't worry :) Formatting will not erase the stock software, it just formats the hard drive.

Are you formatting your player or are you writing firmware to it?

im just fromatting it, because it wouldnt download songs and someone siad formating it would help

Formatting does not remove the firmware from the player.

like dummy and delacerda said, nothing is going to happen to your player. nothing will happen to your firmware.

formatting will help your player instead.
