Default How to load PLAYLISTS on your Chipod (MP4 player)

I know that one of the more common complaints about unbranded "chipods" (mp3/mp4 players) is that they don't do "playlists". You must play songs in the order that they were on your hard drive (or in a random order), but not in a specific order that you wish to play them in. If you did, you had to use the time-consuming workaround of renaming each and every file, by placing a number at the beginning of the name.

Well, say goodbye to all that nonsense, Michigan J. Frog is here. One of my favorite windows media players is Foobar. One thing I like about it is that it can drag and drop from its window to another program. You can create and save playlists in it, and thanks to its window that can take up a full screen, its easy to do. I had a whole mess of Leonard Cohen songs to transfer to my player, and I wanted them in a certain order.

I was wondering what would happen if created a playlist in Foobar with the order of Cohen songs I wanted, and dragged it over to the MP4 player window. I thought there's a good chance that it would remain intact on the player itself, and I was right. I created a folder on the mp4 flash drive with the artist name, and then did the drag and drop transfer. The songs transferred in the order they were in Foobar, and now the songs play in my Glacier mp4 player in the exact order that I want them to, even though they are not in that order on the hard drive. If folders are also to be in a certain order, one only needs to create them on the player in the order they want them to appear.

WMP will also keep the order of the playlists when you sync your Chipod. The only problem is, since the chipod places files in order according to their creation time, if you try to add new files to your playlist and sync them again, they will always show up last. The only workaround is to delete everything on your chipod before you sync.
