Assuming this is an unbranded player, try eBay,
specifically the ones made for ipod nano's.
You may have to ask the seller what the dimensions of their batteries are. The main important specs
are the size of the opening for the battery, and the
voltage (3.7 is std though).

Thanks for that. I know about EBay. You can never be sure that the product you are buying is actually stocked in the UK.

A lot of Internet companies/shops claim to be in the UK, but only cash the cheques and then pass the orders to companies overseas.
You can end up paying Customs Duties on items, which happened to me.
The Postal service pay the 'Customs' duties themselves without any signed agreement from the parcel assignee. They do not inform you when you sign for the parcel at the place of delivery.
Weeks later you end up with a payment demand. Not satisfactory at all.

I now end up emailing Internet companies asking them if they stock the item I want in the UK, and if not, are there any other duties/payment to be met.
If they answer falsely, you can then do something about it, legally.

UK Companies with UK stock. Please advise.

i don't know if you have one in the UK but here in the US we have a store called battery plus. They make battery packs

They are overseas, but Uxcell sells the mp4 chipod replacement battery now. And they also sell replacement batterys for the real iPod Nano, they advertise showing the dimensions. Compare the dimensions and maybe you can buy a Apple Nano replacement. It will give a longer playtime

itspete , i'm not very sure of the import taxes for the UK. But i guess for low-priced items like 4-5pounds for the batteries, it would be tax-free. Even if tax was imposed, it could be like at most 1pound, maybe even a few pence.

Unless you purchase a battery that costs 20pounds, which i don't think costs that much, you shouldn't have much problems with the import taxes.

Perhaps do a little search on the import taxes percentage and the minimum price before they start charging taxes. Then compare the purchase price + postage + taxes for oversea purchases, to purchasing outright from UK stocks.

i'm pretty sure the oversea items would be slightly cheaper than buying locally, even including taxes.

This one would fit my nano clone 1,5. Same size and capacity and it says it has the charging chips in it, which I'm not sure that my original has. I don't need to replace mine, but nice to know that I can get the correct battery for it without spending more than the player's worth.
You wouldn't need those tools. They have instructions on how to do it. http://www.uxcell.com/public/mp4/rep...um_battery.pdf 8)

You should have a word with Tony Blair, then. Tell him I said your postal/csutoms system is all screwy. MAJOR screwy.

Try Maplins. Ideally, you want a 400mah capacity (3.7v I believe), if it will fit the space where your battery now resides. They do stock aftermarket ipod batteries but if they dont have what you need, try a Google search for ipod battery.
