need help with MP3/MP4 player
 

I bought an MP3/MP4 player from ebay from dibsubs (dibsubs?).

The information on the back says

MP3/MP4
FC CE Tested to Comply
With FCC Standards
FOR HOME OR OFFICE USE

Then it has three little icons:

MIC, MP3, and USB

After that it has the headphone jack, MIC jack, and USB port marked.

Now, here's my problem:

At first, I thought it wasn't charging, but then I found I had needed to keep the power switch in the on position. Aha! It is now charging! I checked it just a few minutes into charging to test that it wouldn't turn off immediately and it was successful in running for just about a minute. Good.

However, I've been letting it charge for a good few hours now, and now it will not power on no matter what I try.

I've tried connecting it to the USB port of a laptop, power switch on and off - and it does not power on nor does the computer recognize it as a USB device (as it did earlier). I am not certain what to do if there is something to do. I just got it a few days ago.

It might be in sleep mode.Hold down the play button.

I tried this when trying to turn it on - holding the play button and holding the menu button - nothing happened :(
