ops: I have an Mp3 Mp4 player with a Samsung 643 chip, it should have 4g capacity but I can only get 17 meg. its firmware is ACT2097_S72_1 version 9.0.48. if you can help me with this I would be eternally grateful. all instructions need to be idiot proof as I am not very good at these things. Please feel free to email me direct at normancarter@ukonline.co.uk to be honest I have no idea what I have done to it I was trying to update the “firmware” and managed to screw it up completely. As it was a birthday present last week from my 6 year old grandson I really want to get it back to working all right. ops:

NoSweat,

Can you computer still detect your player when you plug it into the USB port?

If it comes up with the drive and you can see the contents of the player from your computer, that's a great start.

To confirm, you tried updating the firmware on it? After the update, were you still able to turn it on and use the player? If so, that's good news and that your player wasn't 'dead' as a result of the firmware upgrade.

Sorry to say this but there is still a large number of 'hacked' 4GB players out there. This means if you bought a 4GB player, there is still a good chance that it has a smaller memory size chip inside than 4GB and they 'hacked' it to show 4GB instead. Where did you buy it from and who?

Look forward to your answers.

If you can still get the computer can detect the player, follow http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-re...ck-vt2400.html to reformat the player memory and remove any memory hack. The 17MB number makes me think that there is a memory related formatting problem.
