The imv file extension is usually used in camcorders or the Impatica format. What kind of player do you have?

They are all labeled as "MP4" players. Which particular model do you have? Do you have a picture of it? OR the website you bought it from?

Have you tried playing an AMV file on it? Where are you getting that you need an IMV file for video?

aminweb007,

Do you have a SAMPLE video file on your player? Generally they come with a sample file so check your player.

If you find something there, check the file extension and see if it's an .amv. I haven't heard of a .imv video file for the MP4 players though.

If you like, upload the sample video to a hosting site like rapidshare.com so that we can look at the file to help figure out your problem.

Re: Looking for: IMV converter

aminweb007,

So it seems you have a player that plays .imv which is very interesting.

Are you able to upload the file to this site?
1. Go to here: http://www.mympxplayer.org/uploads-by-members-dc20.html.
2. Click the http://www.mympxplayer.org/templates..._pa_upload.gif.
3. Then upload the file to our site.

It would be great to share this with other users.

Also, do you have a photo of your player you can upload to the site as well? You can upload it to the "Gallery/Photos" section on this site as I would be very interested in seeing your player.

Re: Looking for: IMV converter

I also am looking for an IMV convertor. I bought 4 mp4 players from ebay which stated "Support AVI format or other format files converted to AVI format" However, the test file on the player is an IMV. The converter that came with the player is sunplus PMP transcoder which creates ASF files.. I tried Avi ,ASF, AMV, none are seen by the players. I think I got ripped as the auction stated it would play AVI. I have googled for IMV encoders or transcoders and can not find any.

This is the player: NEW 2''TFT 2GB MP3 MP4 VIDEO & FM + MINI SD CARD SLOT.

Re: Looking for: IMV converter

I just bought on eBay a 8GB 2.8" LCD Touch Screen MP3/MP4 FM Video Player and have spent hours and hours trying to download videos from YouTube. I had no problem syncing music from Media Player but none of the AVI converters worked for me. I communicated with the seller--who does not respond in English too well. Finally he gave me this site and this converter is working. I have to use another free converter "Any Video Converter" to convert to AVI, then I use this converter. When the videos get to my MP4 player they are _xvid but they play. :D The link the seller gave me also has IMV converters. Maybe this will help you. For some reason if I close this converter it will not work again so I have to reinstall it. That could be because I first installed the same converter from the CD that did not work--just got to 99% and died.

You can download this tool from this website: http://www.fantat33.com/download/

Good Luck
