(SONY 2 GB I think fake.)

magicwordlove , is your player working properly? If so, then leave it as it is. Updating firmwares usually results in dead players. Also, updating newer firmwares won't give you any additional functions.

What do you want to do with the firmware update?

Did you only want to change the look of the player? Don't try to update it to try to get new features as it's likely to cause a dead player. There are so many manufacturers and variations in firmware that there is a high chance of having a dead player by using an incompatible or mistmatch firmware.
