TYRO,

Can you explain alittle more about your problem with the music you add not displaying on the list?

What size memory is your player?
How many songs have you copied onto your player? Do you have them in folders? If you don't, majority of the players can only hold *99* songs in one folder maximum, so if you have more than that, it won't show up. You can create more folders and put them in folders instead as an alternative.

thank you very much for your prompt reply.
I have a 2GB MP4.
And i dont see folders in it. right now im connected to my office computer. do i have to create folders?
by the way, i formatted the MP4 here, is that just right? The folders are lost and what i did is i just copy the pix & songs directly to drive G: which is the MP4, without any folders. Right now i have 180 music stored just that.
Again thanks for teh quick reply. A pleasant day and hope you could help more. God bless!

TYRO 11th Mar 2007 4:37 am

would like to clarify that again...

I copy the music from my computer then paste them all in Drive G: (MP4) without any folder.

hope i made it clear.?

TYRO,

Copying directly to the MP4 player with any folders is fine, it should play it (well, the first 99 songs at least).

When you turn on your player and choose "Music" from the main menu, do you see the songs on there? Also do you see the songs if you choose "Photos/Pictures" from the main menu?

I dont see the songs, but i see the pictures that i transferred (PC to MP4). by the way, you have mentioned that the maximum songs per folder is 99. Is that regardless of each songs' size?

I do this... I click on the Music Menu. Then the 1st song title appears. Then I click the menu button and i will find 4 options (Local Folders, Delete File, Delete all and Exit)

I will try to reformat the unit here again. Then ill create folder that may contain 99 songs each. and ill advise what happened.

ill wait for any additional infos i do appreciate it a lot.

TYRO , it maybe possible that your player might not support file browsing, so all you can see is only the Folders appearing in the player and not the Filenames appearing.

I have reformatted my MP4 already..
I have created 4 Folders now...
A-J, K-T and U-Z and Audiobook folders.
what i noticed here is that the audiobook folder does not appear and the U-Z folder.
And some music from K-T folder dont work at all

A-J has 77 songs (all good)
K-T has 88 songs (9 songs dont work, it restarts)
U-Z and Audiobook missing.
What am I suppose to do?

When i click on the menu it's like this:

Menu button/Local Folders, Delete File, Delete all and Exit

Local Folders/RootFolder and the list of songs

When I Click the Root Folder it will lead me to another window... its like this..

Local Folder
*ROOT
*A-J
*K-T

what do you mean by it is not supported by file browsing? gud day!

TYRO, i could be wrong as this is just an observation. Assuming that you've copied the files over and they all seemed to have copied ok, but when you go to the players file browser (which you do have by the way) the following folders 'U-Z' and 'Audiobook' are missing. The problem could be that the player has been hacked?
My reasoning is after you've copied the files, it appears that only enough real files have been added to your player but not the rest. Meaning you have filled its true available memory.
Of course this is just an assumtion and may not be your problem.
'Low Level' Format the player again using the Mp3 Player Disk Utility and try adding the folders with your music in them once more.

Im a bit frustrated when i hear something has been hacked... just kidding.
Question is..
how can i format it to a Low Level? do i need the CD to set it to low level? hmm..
is it wrong to format by Right-Clicking the Drive then select Format?
Do you think its one of the causes?
Ill try the CD format first then tomorrow ill come back and try it... my sched here at work is finished and maybe is my boss saw me doing this. he'll kick my butt.

thank you so much for the guide...
Ive neven been in that procedure. I cant even see it in the Disk that i got anyway.
Can i also use the 4.03 or 4.05 downloaded file even though i have a 4.08 version? As you have said The Disk Tool Utility is the same.
If the format is successful what should i do next? should I start making folders? how many to the max?
I'm sorry and i hope i wont make you guys irate. Im ignorant to this MP4 stuff. and Im starting to look silly here. Juz need your helpsss....

thanks in advance..

_Odyssey 12th Mar 2007 4:40 am

TYRO, all of those versions should do the job. When your format is complete try creating the folders as you did before and copy your music to them. Make sure that there are no more than 99 files in each folder as well.

It's ok, we do this stuff all the time and never get irate about it  lol

ok. maybe its one of the strongest points that i should consider first. ill format it now.
maybe i should save at least 90 per folder just to make it sure ey?
Does the size of the song matter? or just the Count? do you think this player has a specific file size limit per song or nuthin?
ill also try to post my players' image so i could inquire what is the size of the screen wo i may know how to add AMV files too. k?

i think i can consider i as one of the strongest possible point. format using that utility. thanks for teh INFO.
By the way, the size of each song doesnt matter right?
Ill post the image of my player soon so i could inquire to you guys how i could add AMV files there, coz i dont know the screen size as well. k?

_Odyssey 13th Mar 2007 3:40 am

The size of the song shouldn't matter... it's just that the chipsets (or firmware or something) can only read a 99 file limit per folder.

As for AMV, there are some excellent tutorials and tips about making the best quality videos for your player in > http://www.mympxplayer.org/video-related-vf4.html as well as the 'How To..' section

TYRO 14th Mar 2007 5:35 am

OMG, i did the procedure (Memory Hack Remover) and when scroll it to the end (Right) its hows that its only 961mb.. how is that?
I use to save more than 1GB that means it is almost 2GB.
I did the procedure properly just how it is but why is it that i have lesser memory?
Help please....

_Odyssey 14th Mar 2007 5:44 am

TYRO, you have less memory because it was never 2GB. The 'hack' we speak of creates the illusion that the player has more memory than it really does. The folders that were missing, were missing because they didn't exist.

Look on the bright side, now your player should behave itself.

So does it mean that I only have 1GB player? oh my crap!!! maybe i should go back to wher i bought it and told them that they gave me a 1GB instead of a 2GB huh? I can tell them that right? any opinion is appreciated.

_Odyssey 14th Mar 2007 6:33 am

Well TYRO, you could go back to where you got it and ask them to supply you with a real 2GB player. But i thought you said a friend gave it to you?

Nevermind, if you or your friend paid money for it then you should demand they replace it with a REAL 2GB player or give you a part refund because you paid for a 2 but only got a 1. You can do that. There is also a possiblility that the person that sold it to you (or your friend) may be unaware that it is only a 1GB.
Good luck

I transferred some music there and converted AMV files also.. why is it that it only plays 5 seconds then it moves to the next movie?

TYRO 15th Mar 2007 2:08 am

Oh its ok now, i erased all AMV files again from player then converted each file 1 at a time.
