zachlardy , you can buy the ipod replacement batteries from ebay or from your local electronics store (some do stock them).

However, you'll need to open the player and measure the maximum allowed space for the battery, and buy one that is either exactly or smaller than the measured dimensions.

For longer playtime, get those with a higher mAh rating. Typical clones uses about 230-240mAh, so anything higher than that would give you longer playtime. From what i recall, the ipod nano batteries are usually about 400mAh.

Opened up my fmp 1.8 and the max available space to fit a new battery is 32mm x 25mm x 5mm, the nano batteries r to big @ 41mm x 32mm x 5mm, so looking on the net, but not much luck at the moment.

Was looking for at least 450mah, but the uxcell nano is only 330mah. I only get about 3 hours now with my 250mah. Was looking for about 6 hours play, however if icant find anything else, will try the uxcell nano, even another hour would be better. At 36mm it might be too big, but sure I can make it fit

zachlardy , these batteries of these sizes are usually lower in capacity. As there is limited space for the battery cells. The highest i've seen so far are usually about 330-350mAh.

Though you can find high-capacity batteries from hobby shops with the same dimensions, but they usually costs more than what you paid for the player.

Ordered the nano battery from uxcell, but is just that bit too big 4 the FMP, no matter how hard i tried to get it to fit. However, it does fit my i platinum, and now get several hours mp3 playback, up from 2 hours.
Didnt bother with soldering, just cut the exsisting wires at the battery, and twisted them togther with the new battery wires, insulated with sellotape. Works a treat.Still on the hunt 4 a better battery 4 the FMP.........
