Default What exactly does the Sleep Time setting do?

I have the FMP 1.8, and was playing with the power and LCD settings. I know that the DarkMode and Off Time settings make the screen go blank and make the player turn off after xx seconds, respectively. There is another option under the Power Off menu called Sleep Time. I can't seem to figure out what exactly this function does. No matter what I set it to, it doesn't seem to change anything. Also, I find it odd that I can set the sleep time up to 90 seconds, while I can only set the Off Time up to 60 seconds. Can anybody tell me what I'm missing here?

The Sleep Time Setting is for having the player turn itself off after a set time. The time is in minutes, not seconds.

FIrst set your Sleep Time Setting then go over to the player and start playing music. With the music playing the player will turn itself off at the set time.

In some players the Off Time setting will override the Sleep Time Setting. Set the Off Time Setting to 0 (zero). Then set your Sleep Time Setting.

I use the Sleep Time Setting at night. I plug my player into my laptop so its charging and then I set the sleep time and I turn on the music player and I go to sleep with some music.

ashley_rb, so your player charges all night? Won't a long charge like that decrease the lifespan of your battery? Most people agree that a charge of about 3 hours is the longest you should do.

Great point.

I should have added that my computer has a program from my company that runs at night doing updates and other stuff. it runs for about 2 hours. when the program is finished it turns my laptop off.

once my computer turns off there is no power to the usb port.

great point about charging the player for to long.

Thanks, Ashley, for the explanation. As far as charging the player goes, though, shouldn't it automatically stop charging the battery once it's full? I mean, the player knows when the battery is full and the charging indicator stops flashing. Wouldn't the indicator not flashing anymore indicate that it's no longer charging?
