4GB 1.8" Nano Like MP4 Player
I bought this MP4 player on ebay:
4GB 1.8" 260K TFT USB MP3 MP4 FM Aluminum PLAYER NB4 Just got it in today and everything works, but as a lot of people say, the navigation sucks on it. Anything I can do to improve it and any mods that are a must to have? If anyoen else has this one and can comment I really would appreciate it. |
Re: 4GB 1.8" Nano Like MP4 Player
I'm with you on this one. My girlfriend bought me this (looks identical) MP3 player for my birthday. Like don't let other people buy you tech gifts, innit?
I love to bits the fact that there's a community based around these dodgy players! It's got the firmware revision ACT_V9.0.50. There's a specific bug in the navigation. The screen has room for 5 files but it tries to list 6. The 6th one is stuck down to the right of the 5th one and pretty much illegible. Scrolling down will give you the next 6 files, missing the 6th one from the screen above. Super sucks, innit? So, following on from the last guy, is there a firmware upgrade/downgrade that might fix this? I also can't get AMVs to play without stuttering to death but I've not yet got round to spending proper time hacking down with VDub and Avisynth. Cheersu all, Dave |

Actually just took mine apart and found only 1 Samsung K9LAG08U0M 16 Gbit chips so I guess it's a hacked 2 GB player. Sucks, innit?

Sorry to hear about the hack. Did you reformat it?
http://mympxplayer.org/how-to-removi...ck-vt2400.html There's some awesome sellers on ebay - and honest. I bought 2 players from the same seller on ebay and they weren't hacks. Genuine 2GB 1.8 inch screen. I am very happy. The mail man wasn't even at the end of my driveway before I started unscrewing the players to check LOL ! It so sad that some ebay sellers have to lie and its even sadder that nothing is done about the dishonest ones. Even though its a hack how does it work? |
I tried to reformat using the tool, but I got 'Not supporting this type disk!'. I could format it using Windows normally but pick FAT (2gb limit). Will do if I run into problems. Otherwise I'll just avoid putting more than 2 gb on it. Or put it in the bin, buy a proper mp3 player - sure girlfriend won't notice ;)

Continuing 'le story':
Used the 4.09 MP3 utils and did the encrypt hack to get the right size on the drive. Been having lots of problems with the filesystem (FS) before, now it's claiming to be 2 GB so hopefully it'll be OK. |
