Default MP3 tags on my hacked MP4 player

Okay, so I found this site AFTER I bought my MP4 player from ebay. And yes, my player was hacked as well. ARGH!!! But anyway, I have 'unhacked' the memory and my 4 gig is actually 2. Still, considering it only cost me $40 Canadian, that's not bad.

But it seems to have some problems with the mp3 tags suddenly. Whenever I play music, the song info comes up as ypS yp1 ypB. Kinda looks cool, but not really useful when trying to find a song. Everything else is in English, and I have changed and reset the language to no avail.

Anyone ever run into this or have any ideas? I'm stumped!

Yeah, that's the ones. Only every single one of my songs does it.

firewaterfan , what format are your songs in?

Also, check the id3v1 and id3v2 tags are properly named. You might even want to remove the both tags totally.

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

T39 doesn''t sound as good as my T29

Songs are all MP3. Unsure how to check or remove the tags you are talking about, although I wonder if you're right because I did some conversion with a file called Bonk Encoder to change everything to 128bit MP3 and the song titles in Windows are all slightly different now.

So, how do I change or remove the tags? Will scour the internet for more info pending a response.

Thanks

K....never mind....was in my encoding program. FYI I had to remove the v2 tags and use the v1 tags. After that, all is good.

Thanks for the help!!!!
