Help needed syncing to my Chi-pod using WMP
I have a 2GB nano-clone on to which I have transferred loads of music files using Windows Media Player 11. Trouble is using the "shuffle to device" function, it has created separate folders for each artiste and seperate sub-folders within those folders for each album. This makes it a right pain to browse given the limited browsing powers of the chi-pod. The chi-pod also slows right down when I try to toggle up and down the hierarchy making it a nightmare to change artiste folders.
Is there anything I can do to to make the tracks sync to the device as individual tracks without any sub-folders? I'm pretty sure I unchecked the "create folder hierarchy" option in "device settings" but it had no effect. Musicmatch Jukebox seems to be able to handle this without too much bother but I prefer to use WMP. Thanks in advance. |
booster cogburn , the best solution to your problem would be to just use the drag and drop or copy and paste method. Just treat your player's removable drive as a normal USB thumbdrive.
This offers you full and better control on the folder structure. |
booster cogburn - I know exactly how you feel. Actually, there is a way to sync individual files. Just follow these steps:
1. Connect your player to your computer 2. Open windows media player 3. Click on the arrow underneath the sync tab and find the drive where your player is located. 4. Hold the mouse over that, and the arrow will show you a number of options. At the bottom, of the list, click on 'Advanced Options.' 5. The box called 'Create folder hierarchy on device' is probably checked. Uncheck it, click 'Apply,' and return to the synching process. It should now create individual files without folders. |
Thanks very much for your answers lattesurf and princessanne1026. Both methods work perfectly well.
