Default Dead screen after reformat

Hi all, i recently purchase a nano clone 2 gig mp4 player. I reformatted it. As soon as the reformat was complete the screen went black. I thought i screwed up the firmware. When i plug it to my computer it recognizes it and i can add music using the media manger that came with it. any clues on how i can get my screen to work. I've already tried firmware update. please help...

EL_INCA247 , do you still remember your previous working firmware version number?

Why are clones called MP4 Players, when they don`t play .MP4 at all?
It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.
