i don't know how to handle with these firmwares and i'm not sure if this is the right file, but this was on my cd.
so try to use it if you want to.

This site has all the rockchip firmwares. You need to use google translater as it is all in chinese. You will need to find your player type among the myriads of name brand players listed.

Also this site has rockchip firmware but as well as using the translater you will need to look up their model number to see which type player the firmware corresponds to and if it looks like your player.

For instance DEC has a player that is exactly like the Teclast C260 so I am sure the odds that the firmware will convert is pretty high.

How update firmware?
RockChip Firmware writer (http://www.sendspace.com/file/0yzzen) say error on all firmware posted in this thread...
My MP4 RockChip2606A (ver: 00.00.0010 Date:2007-01-16) descrise memory from 1G to 208M and don't receive file >3Mb, if I do - say disk not formatted.
Anybody have setup_consumerupdate.exe?
Or may player have combine_keys to format memory?
Help please...and sorry for my english.

stupid me tried to upgrade the firmware on my rockchip, and killed it (partially, anyway). Now it shows the main screen, but not much else. Mostly everything else is a white screen, and I have to guess my way around the menu. So far I've only gotten videos to work. I tried to re-upgrade, but got a message saying, "Too many bad blocks!" what on EARTH is that supposed to mean? Any ideas anyone? Thanks

Hi i have found out a way to change the menu and boot screen for the rockchip players. also have gathered as many firmwares as posible ,
the only software missing is an extraction software.
My player had .007 firmware since i didnt have an extraction toll i downloADED .006 from above and changed the menu with the help of a chineese soft.
then upgraded it. the firmware works fine only the button alignment if wrong. esc button has become ok button etc.
now i need to find .007 firmware just to make the button config as it was.
Another thing i have noticed that the rock chip is quite stable better than atj2085.
I have flashed it 9-10 times with wrong firmares also if the upgrade is unsucess then it can be re flashed easily as it remains in upgrade mode.only once when i loaded a very old .000 firmware teh menu was not available but by shortening the memory pins i was able to recover it.

hi im chilen in my mp4 has that same gui(walker.rfw), can someone give me a picture or give me the order of the options in the configure icon, my screen is white but the player works, i play my music and the menues work fine but i cant see them, please
i need the order of option in the configure icon, to get to the upgrade firmware option to restore mi player....

This is how I get to the upgrade option on my RockChip player:-
.
switch player on wait for it to boot up to get to the main menu.
press the down key 8 times to get to the settings icon.
press the menu or select button to go into the settings menu.
press the down key 4 times to get to the system option.
press the menu or select button to go into the system menu.
press the down key 1 time to get to the upgrade option.
finally press the menu or select button to go into the upgrade option.

now i can get the firmware program to use, but i have the same player os the guy up, the MP4 portable media player, and i wanna know how is the correct use of the software, and i only can use the walker firmware, and my player gets the functions, but no gui,

im using product tool no dog 2.7.6

I got the same interface so probably the insides of my player are the same as yours. Does someone have the firmware ver 00.00.0001, 2007.03.26? I tried installing the firmware posted by puwkin in this thread (00.00.0001_by_17.01.2007) and it works fine except that the only languages available are Middle Eastern and Asian ones, lol.
I could really use the European version.

The "walker.rfw" firmware is RockChip which also has the same interface, has anyone tried this firmware? this looks like may be a european version and is accepted by the ConsumerUpdate program as a valid firmware.

The firmware posted by puwkin in this thread (00.00.0001_by_17.01.2007) has got the European languages in, you just have to navigate the default Hebrew menu by trial and error to find them. The English menu is 9 key presses up in the language menu or 3rd from the very top.

i upgrade mi mp4 just like the pics of gs1960, but know it seams to be dead, just can use it like a flash drive, i cant get into menues(i can turn on, off, and be recognized by windows as rock usb drives), before a cant see the gui, but i can navigate in the menues and play my music, now i dont
i upgrade with 00.00.0001_by_17.01.2007, i dont know what i can do to recover or the right use of the product tool

can u help me? i used the walker.rfw my mp4 menu looksjust like the one gs1960 showed, now the player looks fine but i got some problems with the contrast T.T

Hello all together, i have two Problems.

I can use the same Player only as an Memorystick. I think the Firmware ist defect. But i don´t know where i can get the Firmware for this Player.

My second Problem. I have install the Software "Refresh Firmware". But the Software don’t find the Player "Not find any ROCK USB device.
On my PC i can use the Player as E:. It is called RockChip USB MP3 USB Decive

Can you help me, i don´t understand this things.

I've uploaded on this site my player's firmware that came in the CD.

It's for a 'POWERPACK' Rockchip player that are being selled in South America (Brazil, Paraguay, etc), and maybe can help ppl from Chile & Peru that i've seen here.

Guggele,
If you can use your player as a memory stick then make sure some music is loaded on, switch on the player and press the play button, Can you still play music on your player?
If you can then you have a chance to get the display back. You need to navigate the menu "blind" to the update option on your player, once you have done this connect the USB and load the firmware and start ConsumerUpdate. Your player must be in update mode for ConsumerUpdate to find the Rock USb device.

If you have a blank screen this is how I get to the upgrade option on my RockChip player:-
.

Then Connect the USB and use ConsumerUpdate.

If it says "Not found any ROCK USB device", then your player is not in upgrade mode.

you may have to restart your player and try this several times if you press a key wrong!

Do you have a copy of the firmware and ConsumerUpdate on a cd for your player?

If so then do this to get your player into upgrade mode:-

1) Switch the player OFF using the main on/off switch.

2) Hold down the menu key and keep it held down.(may be a different key for you but there are only 5 to try anyway)

3) Connect the usb to the player.

4) Wait for about 10 seconds before releasing the menu key.

5) You are now in upgrade mode

6) Then just connect ConsumerUpdate and upload a working firmware and try it!

My player is BLANK, I killed when I upgrade the firmware that came on the CD, My player is IQ SOUND, no model on it, firmware on cd is

SC-1645,1654,2602A_MLC_FM.rfw

and it KILL my player, why they put firmware that does not work?

I have tried different firmwares but no joy :(

Can someone knows what is the right firmware for this??
