Windows doesnt recognize my player
windows doesn't recognize the player but the player screen says connected. I searched the forum and all it could find was: change the usb cable.
i've change the cable, didn't do anything. the firmware is: 9.1.51 2007/02/23 BO_4CEY18004 i opened the device manager and it says there is no driver for the usb device. it should be just plug and play. i don't get it. any ideas? |
ashley_rb , it could be a faulty USB socket on your player. The connection screen comes on as long as the cable is connected to something. Even connecting to the wall adaptor to charge would show it as connected.
You mentioned that no driver was installed in the computer, so i think it could be a player hardware problem. As usually Windows would retrieve hardware information from the player itself when you first connect it. However, do try connecting your player onto another computer. |
Re: Windows doesnt recognize my player
hi lattesurf. i tried the player on another computer, my friends. i drove over this afternoon and its doing the exact same thing.
i never thought of usb socket. i was so stuck on a software and firmware issue i never thought of the socket. thanks! |
Re: Windows doesnt recognize my player
Turn the player on and let it fully boot up then plug it in to the computer. Mine does the same thing.

Re: Windows doesnt recognize my player
thanks saxon. i tried that. it didn't work. my computer still can't recognize the player.
i bought the player from a manufacture. i contacted them on friday and i'm returning it on tuesday. the customer service was pritty good. i emailed them a video showing the player wasn't working and it was no questions asked. they said to return it and they will ship me a new one. |
