Random Play All
I have a 2gb iPod Nano clone. Already themed it and all that nice shnuff, but the only thing I don't know how to do yet is to have it play all my files randomly. Can this be done? I have my files set up as...
-Artist --Album ---Tracks -Artist --Album ---Tracks and so on. When I navigate to the album folders my tracks do not show up, but if I click play on the album all of the files will play. I have already set all of the id3 tags up and everything is good, just cannot see the individual files. Assistance anyone? |
high6ix , your player should be using the v3.5.35 or v3.5.37 firmwares which mostly do not support filename browsing, only folder browsing. Do not attempt to 'update' your firmware trying to gain the filename browsing, you will likely brick it instead.
Regarding random play, the player only supports random playback within a folder. It does not support random playback through the whole folder structure. So basically, according to your listed setup, you can only random play within each album. But you can't random play through all the artists at once. |
Re: Random Play All
Thanks, that's what I figured. Also, regarding the firmware. The manual I was sent has pictures of the GUI of my MP4 player, but the images in the manual seem to look nothing like the firmware on my player. The manual also says that there is a firmware upgrade on the disk that was sent, yet this disk will not read through my PC's cd-rom drive.
The theme pictured in the manual seems to more closely match this theme (http://www.mympxplayer.org/pafiledb/...Screenshot.jpg). Yet the theme currently loaded into my MP4 is quite different than this and uses this main background image. --->Click for image The blue area is where the song title/artist etc... scroll across, and that area seems to be a default color, and not controlled by the .bmp as is the rest of the theme, I have changed that image and the blue bar on the image itself has no effect, so i'm assuming this is the default background color as applied by the firmware. Does anyone have a MP4 that had the same theme? And has anyone successfully themed this firmware in it's entirety. Also, as far as upgrading your firmware and "bricking" your MP4. If you do "brick" your MP4, is it possible to reinstall your old firmware, to recover the player? Or is this not possible. Thanks for any opinions/thoughts etc... |
high6ix , the manuals are usually mass-produced, and most of the cases do not look the same GUI as the player itself.
But it shouldn't matter as the basic functions are all the same, only it looks different. Besides, the manual are practically useless. The blue colour background that you see is actually coded within the firmware itself, and could not be changed using S1res. So you'll need to design your theme around it. If you have a backup of your firmware, then chances are if you do accidentally brick it, you'll have a better chance of recovering it. So keep the backup safely. |
