Where to get parts for a ChiPod

a friend of mine won't shut up about his new chipod, which he apparently built himself. He said he was able to get the parts for it relatively cheap, however, he refuses to tell me where in fear of me stealing his sales.

Is this guy's claim legit? It would be pretty kickass to build my own ipod nano knockoff, and I have all the free time I need to build it.

tombert , parts usually come direct from the manufacturers in China. And usually they don't just sell parts alone, unless you order them in bulk, like 1000 pieces of processors, screens, buttons, etc.
You could buy some parts off ebay, but you can't buy all the parts needed for the player. Those on sale on ebay are usually just the casing, and screen.

i reckon your friend just disassembled a couple of players, and mix matched the parts together.
