Loose USB port on MP4
EDIT: It's this mp4, but doesn't last 6 hours (fully charged), even though it says: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/MP3-MP4-DIGIT...QQcmdZViewItem
My mp4 player has a very loose USB port; each time I try to plug in a head to recharge it. It usually falls out even though it's on a flat surface and it is missing one screw. One possible reason is that since actual cable was broken (Don't use anymore), I only use one head and charger. This may have loosened the port and caused the screw to fall out. The two pieces (black front, silver back) are also loose due to only having 3 screws. Is there anyway to fix the USB port? Making it more tight. Will putting a screw in stabilize it? Why? P.S. It is over 1 year old, the first cable I got in with the mp4 didn't even work; probably had broken wires inside. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...0/untitled.gif |
Re: Loose USB port on MP4
Just take it to an electronics repair man, or the someone who fixes cell phones. It seems like a simple enough issue to fix for someone who deals with electronic devices repair.

Re: Loose USB port on MP4
I dunno... Going to a store and paying $20 and the solution could just be adding a screw (which I currently don't have spares). Anyone know if adding a screw would work?
Probably going to get screw from the opposite side later and putting it on the place with no screw since I don't think the other side holds anything. |
your making a big fuyss about this anyway:
sloution it is the missing screw , i just undid the screew on my player and it did the same thing , you need to open up your player , and on the pcb board there is a screw holding that down , its not really nessacary and the case holds it down so you can remove that and use it for the casing , there fixed... |
Slayer6000 , the loose USB connection issue don't seem to be the fault of the missing screw. The USB cable plugs directly into the USB port. Unless the cable that you are using currently is of a different size.

nice of you to listen , is everyone jsut ignoring me , it is because of the missing screw , i just took it out of my palyer and it responded in the exact way in which he describes his problem

Re: Loose USB port on MP4
I use the same size head and I'll try your way lite.. As soon as i find a screw driver that small; anyway what pcb board are you talking about? I've never opened the mp4 before hehe...

J.VIDAL , do not post of topic
you need to undo the other 3 screws lift the player from the metal nearer the usb port so the on/off button acts like a hindge , then it will come straight off , once insize the blue / silver / black block thing is the battery , look around the circuit bord and their is a screw to clam it down , undo that , close the case up ( its best to reattach the on/off button before closing the case ) and now you have 4 screws to clamp the case back together |
