Default Showed 1091MB before but now only 17MB

I was just trying to fix my uncle's mp3/mp4 which had 1091 mb and it had a disk error so I used mp3 utilities to try and fix it. Now it just says it only has 17 mb. Can someone please help me?

cescfabregas4, In 'My Computer' do you see 2 removable drives? or just 1? Either way i think you should go to the 'Removing memory hack' thread and perform the operations as outlined there. It sounds as if you formatted it with 100% encrypted. You will need to go back to mp3 utils and set the encrypted capacity to zero. That should get you back to 2GB

The guide is here > http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-re...ck-vt2400.html

Oddysey I used to see two drives before I used the Utilities tool and now I don't, only one. I went back to zero percent and it just says there's 108mb available when there should be more, there should be 1091. What could be wrong?

That doesn't sound good. 108mb is very familiar in the way of hacked player. In players that have had it's memory hacked, a '108mb' result after a format means that it's only a 128mb player. So it never had 2GB at all. All that extra memory was just an illusion, thus causing the 'disk error'. Just to be sure try the 'Remove memory hack' procedure again.

Is it still under warranty? If it is, you might be able to return it for a replacement.

oops.. 1091mb.. i missed that i thought it was 1901mb.. so it was only hacked to 1GB not 2. Hardly surprising when it only has 128mb. And if it was a real 1GB player it would read 968mb, not 1091mb.

Default Re: Immediate Help

Lisong/Wilson Mp3 Player purchased from Ebay on 2007/Jan 12 as 4Gig Firmware version 9.0.50 2005/01/09

Worked OK until it had more than 1Gig downloaded then it gets "Format Error" when mp3 is played.

Tried the format guide at http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-re...ck-vt2400.html

After finishing only had 17MB.
----------
Noticed the MP3 player was setup to multi drive so changed the setup to --> Setup/Online mode/Normal only

Reset MP3 player connection by unpluging USB cable and plug it back in.
----------
Ran MP3 player utilities 4.00/MP3 Disk Tool from 3inch CD shipped with MP3 player or download version 4.03 from -->
http://www.mympxplayer.org/amv-conve...-mb-df260.html

Format tab/Drive G:/Capacity 961MB (this has now changed from 17MB to 961MB after making setup changes from multi-drive to normal)

Select Format type/Full

Press Start (on the format tab screen not the partition and encrypt screen) (this finishes in under 10 seconds)

When finished it displays --> 1,008,140,288 bytes (1008MB) /16384 allocation units/61532 total allocation units

Reset MP3 player connection by unpluging USB cable and plug it back in.
----------
MP3 player Setup/memory info displays 959M
----------
Now use Windows XP explorer to format MP3 player/Capacity 961MB/File system FAT32/Allocation unit size Default

When finished display properties --> removable disk (G: - MP3 player) / properties/capacity 1,006,436,352 bytes (959MB)
