Ebay nano knock off

Hi just wondering whether any one can help. I recieved my me2 mp3 digital player from hong kong and have followed your instructions re: using the MP3 utilities to reformat and check it's memory - surprise surprise it is not a 4GB but instead a 17.8MB.
Since then I do not have any of the original folders and the player comes up with messages of no files, empty disc etc. My PC recognises the music etc - and it indicates it is being sent to the MP3 player but again messages of empty disc and no files continue.
Thanks to anyone that might be able to help.

You might not be able to do much about this..Only 17.8mb..You can store files but you wont be able to use them. Try removing all the files in your player and only put in few music around 17mb and test it. Because..No matter how many file you put in it will keep saying that. Also onece when I was putting a 50mb music file, It got corrupted and showed 3gb file instead of 50mb.

Annoyed , you need to continue with the formatting guide. Slide the slider now to the Left & click on Start. This will remove any memory encryption, and re-partition the chip properly.

ya like lattesurf said, Do the partition and encryption steps. Put the partition in low. I recommend you dont format it, just do the partition part. I did partition part and got my player's 2gb space back TWice.

Thanks guys for advice - yes I have completed the formatting and the MP3 player states it is 1950 MB (1.9 GB). I am still having the problem of not having any files, and empty disc commands coming up on the MP3 player. Do I have to re install the firmware?

The setup states the firmware is
LG MP3 player
QY042FV1
CM60012
2007/02/06
ACT_ V9.0.50

PLEASE PLEhelp me.. I am experiencing the same problems as ANNOYED. I plug it into my comp and it shows it as 1.90 G (i brought it to a buddies house whre it worked and i did the mem hack removal and also formatted)when i plug it in. I go to transfer a file and get one of 2 messages(Same as Annoyed) "Error copying file or folder: The parameter is incorrect" or "Cannot find the specified file: Make sure you specify the correct path and file name"...then when i look at it in My Computer it shows 0 mb for the removable and it is unformattabe. Upon shutting off and restartign the player, the file is said to be in there. It takes about 1-5 seconds before it stops transferring. It Does work at my friends computer.

Also the weird thing is that my driver information is EXACTLY as ANNOYEd has just posted above me...

Please knowledgable MP4 gurus.....offer me your sagely advice.

In Desperation,
Jimmymcwick

P.S
My mp4 player is less that 24 hours old since this post

Jimmymcwick , try using another USB cable as most of the cables that come with the player are faulty.

Jimmymcwick 15th May 2007 7:00 am

thanks for the quick response. I have a spare cord that i used to no avail. and the friends comp is located in my place. Same cord works onhis, just not mine. Ive also tried to unistall the USB contollers but no luck.

Im thining maybe a windows Repair or a full Re-formatting might be neccisary?

Hi Jimmymcwick
Just thought I'd let you know that I downloaded the MP3 utilities v4.09 http://www.mympxplayer.org/amv-conve...6mb-df468.html
Open this program on your computer and you should be able to download songs etc using this. It worked for me - so i'm hoping it will do the same for you.
