Default How to change BATTERY for LONGER LIFE!!!

My battery life sucks at the moment... i have a nano clone (2nd gen) and was wondering if it is possible to change the battery for another one that last for a veeeery long time and charges via usb cable or the travel charger...

Is it possible to get a lithium one... apparently they are better.

anyways i thought of going to Dick Smith electronics and looking for it.

d12nv , some hobby stores do have excellent lithium polymer batteries that you can use. However, they don't come cheap, and usually cost in the range of $20-$50. They might even customize a battery to fit the current space in your player, but will definitely cost much more.

Usually those batteries sold in electronics stores are of different sizes, and you might have a problem finding one that could fit.

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

d12nv , standard voltage for the players should be 3.7V.
Typical mAh rating of stock batteries are usually about 150-220mAh, so i'll suggest going higher as a larger mAh rating results in a longer battery life. But you can't go too high as the battery size would get bigger, and you'll have fitting problems.

d12nv , you can't. The only thing that is for sure would be the voltage which is 3.7V. The mAh rating varies among players, but they are close to 200mAh.

HI

Try E Bay!! I got one a while ago for my my first gen Nano Knockff. I intended to swap it with the crap one that came with it!! BUT!! I fryed my first gen clone and did not do it in the end!! Need a FW 9.0.48 for that one now!!
The battery is apparantly a genuine replacement for ipod Nano,e it is 3.7V and runs at 400mAh.The dimensions are apparantly the same as that would fit these first gen nano clones, down to a mm or so, tight fit by all accounts. Check out the other messages on here people have already done the swap.

The battery cost including postage was about $15 or less!! I have never ended up using mine.
I then got a new 2nd Gen Nano Clone in the new metalic style, and discovered the battery is even more of a piece of crap, than the first gen. I tried to figure a way to get the insides out to do some surgery on it also, but gave up due to the fear of breaking it!!. The first gen was a lot easier to take apart!! After a couple of months my 2nd gen has almost given up, regards battery life!! And dont want to try the surgery so I went out on the weekend and paid $299 for a 4GB genuine 2nd Gen Nano!! ops: 4 days in and I have not even recharged the battery!! :P YES iTunes SUX!!!! But have discovered a whole culture out there that is dedicated to hacking and modding the ipod regards itunes and DRM!! :P
So I dont use itunes anymore

I am happy to sell that battery if ya are interested!! It's unopened!! PM me!! I ca email pix.

Im in Adelaide SA.

Cheers

Joffa
