Default Problems with selecting music folders

Hello,

I was given a (practically new) 1 gb player and have figured everything out. . except one thing. When I am in music mode and select a folder to play, it goes to the first folder that's on the list. Even if I scroll down and go into another folder and hit Menu, it plays music from the first folder! I have tried everything but am stumped. Can anyone help me? I hope I'm overlooking something obvious.

Thanks,
Rene

Open the menu while music is playing and try setting "Repeat" to Normal, usually fixes the problem.

I checked, the repeat is already set at normal. I did reformat the unit last night from FAT 32 to FAT and uploaded music again. Perhaps I am not selecting the folders correctly? This is what I am doing:

In music mode, hit M and get first folder of music. Hit M again and get list of all folders. Use >> to scroll down to desired folder. Hit M and see contents of folder. Scroll down to song I want and hit M. Then it opens the file--but it's from first folder.

Am I doing something wrong in selecting the folder?

Sorry to seem so lame. This is my first mp3 player and I don't have much experience.

I had a player that worked the same as you are describing and another that for the last press i had to use the play button not the M button.

Just tried that. Still didn't work. Should I reformat again? Is FAT the better format, or FAT32?

Fat is better unless your player is over 2GB in which case Fat32.

Yep, FAT's what I used, and it's only 1 gb. I suppose I *could* live with it like this, as it was free. . . but I was hoping to find a better solution.

Hi to all.

I have the same problem like Mitty

My Player firmware is:
LG MP3 PLAYER
b803
CM60022
2007/01/13
ACT_V9.0.50

I'm just tried your suggest, but I cannot select a song from any (or root) folder. The player start even from first song

Do you have another suggest for me?

Thank you

I have the same problem and I think it depends on how many folders you have. I'm doing some testing about it and it seems to work properly only if you have less than 24 folders (including ROOT ecc.)
