FM Radio works but ...
On my MP4 player, which is a SRX-3.5.37 firmware model, cannot play FM on speakers...
Speakers do work with all music and videos but not with FM radio, I can though say that FM works for it works with headphones and I can record it. My player has 2 speakers built in and 2 head phone sockets. Help me please. Actually I have had the same model with a LSD firmware, which could not be extracted or repaired by the tool because of its version, but in that I could hear the FM on the speakers. I really want to know whether a firmware upgrade shall help, though I dont want to lose the chance of being able to modify the firmware, if that helps, i shall do it. I am asking this here cause if it dint work I dont want to get into the hassles of recovering a dead player. Hoping you help me. |
DrCoolSanta, If the speakers only work when the earphones are removed then this will affect the radio because the earphones act as an aerial to pickup the radio signal.
This is possibly the way the player is wired so changing firmware will not make any difference. |
Re: FM Radio works but ...
I get your point but..
you see I had another of this same model but with the LSD firmware. how come it work then? Yes speakers only work when there is no headphone but as I said I can record the radio and hear the recording too. Its just that it plays just nothing in FM even though it catches signals, so that was my problem. Also can I get firmwares to upgrade SRX 3.5.37 to something new, this does not support animations at all in menu while all themes here do. |
I think you cannot play sound by speaker when plugged earphones. Because the speaker works when you have unplug the earphones, It means the speaker works analog signal. The speaker amplifier is not digitaly assembled. I think you cannot modify that yourself.

DrCoolSanta, different firmware versions LSD, SRX etc usually means 'different chips' even though they they may be the same fw 3.x.xx.
It's also what decides how the player operates. So if your new players radio doesn't work when the headphones are removed then thats most likely the way it was made. There wouldn't be a so called 'firmware update' that would fix this. So changing the firmware in this case would definitely kill it. |
