Default no idea firmware or keypad problem

i bought 2 fake ipod clone from china. but after bring back, i found both of it different with 1 having speaker on the device and another doesnt have it.

problem is the one dont have speaker right button and play button cant work. the firmware interface also looks different from the other 1. so i try to backup the firmware and backup the other 1 firmware. let say no speaker=firmware A and with speaker = firmware B. i had see the firmware same version also. so i f;ash the firmware from Firmware A to firmware B on that device. found out it become unbootable. so i load back the previous firmware. i found out it working properly with the right button and play button. but after i shutdown the mp4 player and turn on again, the button is problem is appear again which right and play button cant work.

so what should i do to fix this problem? the firmware version is 3.5.37. i see those firmware that can download from here also. but i have no idea what those extension *.7z for. i cant load those firmware at all with 7z extension. i only know *.bin extension.

I would definetly contact the seller and ask for a refund or new product. I might be reading your post wrong but it sounds like you were sent the wrong product in the beginning.

Where did you get the players from?

ourherohasfallen , i would not suggest that you flash your player with any other firmwares besides those that you have extracted from the player itself. As you have noticed, when you flashed your other player with a different firmware (ie A to B), the player does not work. Each firmware is player dependent, so very likely it would not work with other players. There is also a chance that if you flash it with a wrong firmware, your player would end up dead, and you'll need to perform a dead player recovery.

Since your firmware versions are v3.5.37, i'll suggest you try to download Waterlily software here http://www.mympxplayer.org/waterlily...-mb-df256.html

You can reassign the buttons using this software. Then flash the new firmware back into the player.

Why are clones called MP4 Players, when they don`t play .MP4 at all?
It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.
