SCREEN Contrast is too high - excessive light

Hi friends!!!
A new problem..........
The display screen of my MP3 player (S1 Mp3 - Wilson) [Black ipod clone, 1.5 ' screen] has got too much light on it. I cant read the screen at perpendicular view. If i see at an angle then only i can see the light image of the inetrface. No problem in playing songs........ working ok. only display problem.

I have tried to user sfx mod to reduce the contrast of the firmware, but no result.

Another problem i am also facing. When i shutdown the player by pressing down the PLAY/PAUSE button, the next time i try to start using the same button , the player doesnt start. Only if i switch off the power and restart, it works. Can anyone tell why this is happening.

Firmwire version is 3.5.35.

Hi Arc2006.

I know there is some time of this post but:

To correct the on/off with the play/pause button issue try firmware 3.5.37 instead of using 3.5.35, its in the download firmware libaray here at the forum.

Some people using 3.5.35 have had problems and have gone to the 3.5.37 and it solved the issue for them.

arc2006 , i would not recommend flashing in another firmware to solve the contrast problem. It would very likely brick your player instead.

i'll suggest that you load your current extracted firmware into the Waterlily software here http://www.mympxplayer.org/waterlily...-mb-df256.html

There is a setting for contrast within the software which you can adjust.

Umm, isn't there a contrast option in the setup menu of the player? There is one on mine. :P

Th3_uN1Qu3 , you can also adjust the contrast using the brightness setting within the player.

But with arc2006's problem of having an extremely bright screen, the brightness setting most likely would not be able to solve it. As the setting is only limited to a few levels.

With Waterlily, the contrast setting has much more levels. I can't really recall but i think it's about 50.

However, do try with the player's setting first and if it does not solve the problem, do the Waterlily method.

Yes, my player for instance has 16 brightness levels, and i always keep it on the lowest. :P
