Default samsung yp-t9 look alike problem

I got one samsung yp-t9 look alike from ebay and received it today.

The player works fine, it played the mp3 music that came with it, played an mp4 movie that came with it too, played radio, read some e-books, it did almost everything it should have done.

Almost, because when i try to connect the player to the PC the player starts showing 3 different screens first a sand clock, second a welcome screen, and then a connect screen, followed by the sand clock again... and so on, and so on (nonstop), it only stops when the battery runs out.

And the problem is that because of it the PC doesn't detect the player not allowing me to insert musics in my brand new mp3/mp4 player.

I tried to connect the player to 3 different PCs, and i even tried in Linux ubunto, linux mandriva and windows XP but the results are always the same.

Also tried with 2 cables that work perfectly with other devices.

I tried to contact the seller but he is not answering, so you guys are my last hope to solve this.

Thanks

ok sounds to me like theres a connection problem with your cord or you pins because it senses it try holding the usb cable into the player and push on it if that work then it has something to do with the pins or the cord if you feel comfortable taking apart your player see if the pins a strait and not pushed back because some times they are....

seugirdor , very likely there is a hardware problem with the connector in the player. It would be very difficult to repair it yourself, and i'll suggest you open a dispute with paypal (if you paid for it using paypal) for item not as described. This way, the seller would most likely reply to your messages.

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

i finally realized what the 3 images mean, the first one is the conect screen, next the player reboots and appears the sand clock showing that it is loading, and then the welcome screen that means that it has turned on again.

so the problem happens on the when the connect screen is showing (1 or 2 seconds) because it shouldn't have rebooted.

and i found a new thing that may or may not tell (i don't know i am not an expert in this matters) if the problem is in the hardware or firmware.

the thing is that when i go to the setup menu and i choose the firmware update icon the player reboots exactly when the connect screen appears, just like when i plug it to the PC but this time it isn't even connected to the pc.

does this help to understand what is happening and to solve my problem?
