Wow, what a deal! 60GB for $108. And the description is an almost verbatim copy of the old iPod page at Apple.com. Hey, look, under "Overcoming the Gap" it even calls itself an iPod. But, iPods are more than $108. Oh, how nice it plays "protected AAC". Too bad Apple has not allowed any third party to do that. And the patented "touch interface"? Sure is patented. By Apple ;-)

Friend, I'm sorry, but everyone else is right, you got taken for a ride. I highly doubt there is even a hard drive, much less a 60GB one inside the player. You got it last week? Maybe you can return it, but the others here might have a better idea on how that will go with this merchant.

I don't know how well they respond to returns, but maybe try that?

Don't feel too bad, it looked like a sweet deal. And the only reason I knew what I did about it is that I spend way too much time on the Apple boards.

Does it look exactly like the picture and, indeed, have a touch wheel on it, or does the wheel click from spot to spot? How does it work as a 1GB player? Is the video smooth? Does it actually play all the formats it says it does? If so, you have something that might make Apple's legal team drool. If you can play protected iTunes content (as it claims) then wow! You actually do have a deal, as no one else can!

I knew it was the old apple page...I was just hoping it might have some truth to it. I made a bet, and I guess I just lost most of my money. The player is pretty cool though...all 1gig of it....

Did you pay through Paypal or credit card? You might be able to dispute the charges and get a refund or at least partial refund.

SeanKevin,

Can you send me some information on the player you bought?

I noticed on their site, it saids "12 months warranty". So if you've had it within the 12 months, I would strongly suggest you claim it under warranty and get your money back.

It would be interested to know what their reply is if you complain to them that your player has jumped from 60GB's to now only 900MB......

I'm actually interested, too. The image online is clearly an iPod with a picture photoshopped onto the screen. Does the thing look just like an iPod? What's the interface like?

While I don't normally support that kind of blatant copyright infringement, I also don't want to see my sister dump $300 on an iPod for my 13 year old nephew. I wouldn't but it from these guys, but with some info on the thing, maybe I can find him one for Christmas.

I emailed them a few hours ago explaing what happened and asked for a product of equal or lesser value from there site or my money back. The player is definetly under warrenty because I got it on Thursday. I don't really think its the distributors fault...more of the company supplying them is selling false produts. It is a pretty cool player, nice UI, and has an okay video player. I hope they'll honor their warrenty, but I'm not sure because when I called their support line I got an answering machine for computercityinc(eek!). So should I try to send it in and risk not getting anything back at all?

SeanKevin,

Personally i wouldn't bother trying to strike any deals with them as they most likely won't honor any warranty claims. They're scammers and cheats. Just take a look at this page for others experiences with computercityinc > http://computercityinc.wordpress.com...hese-scammers/

This kinda sucks for me...I got screwed....thats just great...at least the player works. I've mangaged so far to get about 800songs on the 1gig of space available. It sounds good...but as for video, its gonna be completely useless, can't fit anything on it. What really erks me the most is that if I had ordered the cheaper 2gig version, would it have been the same product...I'll never know...well thanks everyone for the help,I appreciate it.
