Problem with my Chipod

Hi guys, I bought a chipod about 6 months ago. It has worked perfectly since buying it until recently. The issue I have is that if I bend/bump the player (even a little bit) it shuts doen then restarts. I use it a lot when i mow the lawn and just keep it in my back pocket. So, as i move around this seems to happen frequently. I assume its probably juist a poor soldering point or something but just wanted to see if anyone has had this problem.

Cheers

I agree with you, sounds like a dry joint or poor connection considering you have had your player sometime and it has been working fine until now

Heck, I'll agree with you. When I recently pulled one of my players apart to verify the memory, I loosened one end of a diode because I didn't realize one screw was a mm shorter than the others and was supposed to go there and only there. Imagine my horror when I pushed the on button and got nothing.

Took me about a half hour to figure out that the little bitty teeny weenie component on the very edge of the board was not quite straight. Another 15 minutes sticking it back in place and re-assembling the the thing and I'll agree with anyone who says something has come loose in theirs!

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking about taking it apart but Ive never done it before and Im kinda scared to possibly screw the whole thing up.

sec126 , it could also possibly be a case of static causing the player to restart. Especially if you put in your pocket and move around.

Well thats a good possability but Ive actually taken the player and bent it in my hand just a little bit and it did the same thing. The hourglass came up it restarted all over again.

I have an old palm device that does the same thing. I'm fairly sure there is something loose inside, but I just haven't taken a look yet.
