shutting down when I try to play anything in it

Hi everyone,

I have an MP4 player, it used to play songs for me and record, but now its shutting down when I try to play anything in it. It goes in the menu screen and it's fine until i press the forward button or try to play a song, it's really annoying all I see is it shutting down all the time. However, when I connect it to the computer through USB, everything works fine, and I can play songs normal, record. It's really weird. I suspect it's the firmware that got messed up, and I want to replace it... Is this possible?

The specs are
MP4 Digital player with a 1.5" screen.

When I look into the firmware version I get
FW: B806G2V2.1H
date: 2006/11/10
Core: 9.0.50
date: 2006/10/30

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

afflictedd2, Unless you can get the exact specific firmware for your player from the seller do not try to update your firmware it will in all probability kill your player with no chance of recovery.

Try formatting the player.

Re: shutting down when I try to play anything in it

I'm actually thinking now, it's the battery I've noticed that when I try to put it still in one position it's acting normal, and playing music and everything but as it is moved it quickly loses power and thus shuts down =\, can the battery be lose in there.., it's fallen a .... few... times :\ I hope it's not broken :'(

afflictedd2 , these player's batteries are low quality and usually do lose their charge/capacity after some time.

i'll suggest you contact your seller for an exchange or refund as its the easiest way out.

Alternatively, you might want to purchase a new battery to replace the old one.
