[Solved] Desperately need help with battery recharge :(
Experts please help!
I bought my mp4 player just a few days ago and had a problem with battery recharge. I had replaced my last one (which absolutely had no intension to rechage itself at all). This replacement seems to have the same problem... The shop seller told me to only charge it for max. 2 hours using an AC adapter, so my first attempt was charging it for 2 hrs. I found that the replacement did recharge but still cannot recharge to FULL battery. Then I did 2 more attempts. One for an hour and one for a 2-hour rechage. STILL the battery didnt seem to know how to reach its full capacity!!! I thought it may be a display problem because I saw several posts complaining about the accuracy of the battery levels. I started listening to the player but about an hour later the battery falls to half... But isnt it normal to have it playing for 3 hours+? Even if my player can run 3 hours+, I have to charge it for 5 hours each time... It sounds really uneconomical. I think I'm gonna be crazy with this... This has annoyed me for serveral days. Just wanna ask: 1) If I charged it right: I was instructed to charge it with switch on (I really switched it on physically). When I was recharging it using an AC adapter, the green light is on. But after HOURS later it never dims until I unplug my mp4. Is this a cause for no full battery recharge? 2) The shopkeeper told me to charge it for 2 hours for maximum. I saw in the post (http://www.mympxplayer.org/battery-v...ight=overnight) which suggests that the player should be charged overnight for the first 5 charges. Will my player/battery be capable to charge itself overnight? My sister said she really doesnt want to die in explosion... 3) If I use USB port to recharge my player, how should I do that? Do I only need to plug the player into the port and that's it? I tried to use this method to recharge the battery but it didnt seem to recharge, instead the battery dropped... I noticed that the computer could detect it and started in transfer mode (with the player's screen showing data transfer)... So is it my player really charging? I've doubted if it's the battery quality problem but my sister's mp4 which was bought 1 month ago doesnt seem to have the recharge problem... (no battery replacement and at least the battery level can reach its highest) Thanks so much for spending time on reading this post... Sorry if this bothers you all but I'm really glad if this problem can be solved! Or else I'll be really desperate :( |
yenahs,
Generally it's recommended that you charge from a computers USB port as charging from an AC adapter doesn't have alot of control over how much 'current' is still flowing into the battery long after its charged. I understand it can be quite alot and could even destroy the battery or your mp4 player. But with that said it's sometimes advisable to give an mp4 player a good charge of up to 12 hours before first use. Personally i'd say no more than 6 and from a computers USB port. If you do charge overnight make sure it's also on a USB.(so it's unlikely it will explode) ;) Just to check, does your mp4 players screen go black after you put it on to charge and do you see a "battery charging" animation when you do? Have you tried charging the player on different USB ports? or on another computer completely? When using your player it's wise to shorten the length of time the screens backlight stays on so it's not draining the battery prematurely. You'll find it in Sys Setup > LCD Set > Black >"" |

Re: Desperately need help with battery recharge :(
sorry to bother again...
these few days i've been trying to recharge the battery it seems the battery can be recharge but it never reaches its full. Would you all think it could be a display problem cos it shows only half battery level but after an hour it doesnt drop... |
I think it's a firmware bug. If the battery lasts for as long as it should (3-5 hours) there's nothing to worry about. ;)
My Nano clone shows that it's charged long before it actually is, and from the time when the battery level starts to drop on the display, there isn't more than 20min of playback left. |
