It looks identical to the nomad A217 but were that one has NOMAD mine has MP4 digital player. I have found the below information in the firmware version section.

Hi there Phil. Well if your player is working DO NOT i repeat DO NOT update the firmware. Please follow my advice and WAIT until a proper firmware backup tool is made by Wire. Don't do it since I had extremely big problems with my Nomad and God knows what i've been thru to recover it. The backup tool should be here anytime now.

Oh, i see... I thought that you guys were only waiting for a few months... I wonder why does it take so much time? Can you please PM me Wire's instant messenger or e-mail? I'd like to speak to him and who knows, maybe I could give him a hand.

People have suggested conspiricys about this before that he is conning everyone into donations and will never release extraction software or somthing along those lines , I doubt this ...

Other people have suggested using a universal firmware which can be created and scan through the drivers to find the correct ones (a bit like mobile phones and pcs) a mobile phone can only work with one operating system whereas windows XP has lots of drivers installed so it will work with hudreds of makes and types of pcs.

I kinda believe the donation stuff though. But that's a whole different issue.

I think it's just that he doesn't give a fuck anymore (excuse my language). We have to convince him to release the source code of his tools so that more people could get to work on them and make 9.x.xx firmwares extractable.

And don't give me the "it can't be extracted because of blah blah" crap, everybody said StarForce 3 will never be cracked, and it has been, and by several groups too.

We just need more people working on this and sharing the knowledge, not requesting donations for a program that doesn't even work anymore.
