.fw V.s .bin ??

Hi everyone, i'm still lost on what's the different between the .fw and .bin extensions, however, is there any good programs to backup or at any means extract the preinstalled firmware out of MP3/4 players ?

please I need such information.

thnx in advance.

take care!

Zobaidy, .fw files are generally the factory full versions of the firmware, they contain certain files used to prepare the device, allocate memory for firmware to reside etc. These extra files are not copied to the player.

.bin files are usually extracted versions of firmware that just contain the players operating system.

Having said that, sometimes full version firmware will use the .bin extension.
